Mr. Trump Jr.

Donald Trump Jr.

Executive Vice President Development & Acquisition

The Trump Organization

Donald J. Trump Jr. is an innovator and leader in today's young business world. As an Executive Vice President at The Trump Organization, he works in tandem with his siblings Ivanka and Eric to expand the company's real estate, retail, commercial, hotel and golf interests nationally and internationally. His extensive real estate development experience, rigorous education and inherent business sense add a level of detail and depth to the management of all current and future Trump projects.

Mr. Trump directs new project acquisition and development for The Trump Organization throughout the world -- in areas from Eastern Europe to Southeast Asia, the Middle East to South America, mainland China to the United States. In addition to new project acquisitions, he actively oversees The Trump Organization's property portfolio, which contains over 70 projects. He is involved in all aspects of the company's development, from deal evaluation, analysis and pre-development planning to construction, branding, marketing, operations, sales and leasing.

Upon joining the Trump Organization in 2001, Mr. Trump initially worked at Trump Place, the historic West Side Yards redevelopment in New York City, one of the most ambitious and successful large scale development projects in Manhattan. The project spanned several blocks, featured 17 buildings, and created a new community. From there he went on to lead the development of Trump Park Avenue, a conversion of the landmark Hotel Delmonico to an ultra-luxury residential condominium on Park Avenue at East 59th Street, which has been a tremendous success.

In 2003, Mr. Trump began overseeing the construction and development of Trump International Hotel & Tower, Chicago, a 2.6 million square-foot property along the Chicago River, currently the tallest completed residential building in the world. The 90-story building includes 486 residential condominium units, 339 hotel condominium units, and four levels of retail space. Located on the site of the former Chicago Sun-Times, Trump International Hotel & Tower, Chicago has the best location in Chicago, and has been named the "#1 Hottest Hotel in North America" by Condé Nast Traveler.

Trump is also involved in the development of Trump International Hotel & Tower, Las Vegas, a 64-story hotel condominium tower located on the Las Vegas strip. The development features 1,282 ultra-luxury hotel condominium suites with 50 penthouse suites, including expansive three-bedroom suites, as well as DJT, an acclaimed five-star restaurant, and a full service spa.

In March 2006, Trump announced plans to design and build a spectacular golf development on 1,400 acres of sand dunes and rolling bluffs. This stretch of stunning land, with three miles of sugar sand coastline at Menie Estate, Aberdeenshire in the northeast part of Scotland will surely become one of the finest golf destinations in Europe. Trump International Golf Links, Scotland will be comprised of two championship golf courses, a five-star hotel with associated facilities, a state-of-the art golf academy and a turf grass.

Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
