Mr. Darrell Schuurman

Darrell has over 15 years experience in the tourism industry, working in the accommodation, transportation, tourism services, and travel trade sectors of the industry. He currently works with Canada’s national passenger railway, VIA Rail, as Manager of Market Development. Working closely with tour operators and suppliers, he is responsible for increasing market share within the Ontario region.

Prior, Darrell worked with the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council as Director of Sales & Marketing. He worked closely with provincial tourism education councils, provincial tourism industry organizations, and national tourism associations, and was responsible for developing a national brand for the Council’s products and programs.

Darrell completed his Bachelor of Commerce Degree concentrating in Tourism at the University of Calgary. He currently resides in Toronto, Ontario.
