Demonstration Kitchen Features Top Chefs

WHITE PLAINS, NY, October 26, 2006. The Demonstration Kitchen at the upcoming International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show(R) (IH/M&RS) will feature a series of impressive culinary demonstrations, as top chefs reveal their cooking techniques, Sunday, November 12, and Monday, November 13, 2006, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. This intensive culinary program will showcase traditional cooking and pastry demonstrations, -allowing attendees to observe the preparation and sample the finished product.

"The Demonstration Kitchen offers a unique opportunity for attendees to witness the culinary skills of some of the industry's most highly-acclaimed chefs," said Christian Falkenberg, show manager. "The demonstration lineup will add an interactive and exciting element to the culinary offerings at the Show."

Sunday, November 12

-- Chef Michael Vignapiano, CCE, AAC, ICA-ACF Big Apple Chapter Showcase, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Demonstration featuring Prosciutto di Parma and Parmigiano Reggiano.

-- Chef Adam Perry Lang, Daisy May's BBQ, 12:30 - 1:30 pm.

Presented by Food Arts magazine and facilitated by Editor-in-Chief Michael Batterberry. Demonstration with pork.

-- Chef Michael Lomonaco, Porter House New York, 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Monday, November 13

-- Chef Ralph Yedinak, Waterfront Ale House NYC, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Demonstration featuring the endless variations and unique qualities of ales and lagers.

-- Chef Dominic Palazzolo, Founder & President, Culinart, Inc., 12:30 - 2:30 pm

Presented by the Soci'et'e Culinaire Philanthropique. Demonstration of the centuries-old art of tallow sculpting.

Complementing the Demonstration Kitchen is the 138th annual Salon of Culinary Art, featuring more than 300 static "food as art" displays. Presented by the Soci'et'e Culinaire Philanthropique, the exhibit showcases extravagant buffet tables, decorated fish and poultry, pastry work and other creatively prepared foods. The Salon of Culinary Art will be open to the public Sunday, November 12, and Monday, November 13, 2006.

The 91st annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show will run Saturday, November 11, through Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Following a full-day of conference and networking activities on Saturday, November 11, the IH/M&RS will feature three full days of exhibits from Sunday, November 12, through Tuesday, November 14. The market presents some 1,250 hospitality industry suppliers and attracts approximately 35,000 in total trade attendance.
