FREDERICK, MD – March 1, 2010 – Skyware Hospitality Solutions, Innovators and software creators of the browser, web based Skyware Hotel & Sales and Catering Systems, and a leading developer of enterprise property management solutions, announces industry professional Bob Coyne has joined the Skyware Solutions Group as Senior Systems Consultant. He will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and assisting Skyware clients in using Skyware’s advanced technology to enhance work flow practices and to improve efficiency and profitability.

Skyware’s Chief Technology Officer, Mario Gordon, said, “I don’t know of many other professionals in our industry that has the knowledge ware and multi facet experience Bob Coyne brings to Skyware and our clients. His perception and consultative background with hospitality operations and the role that technology should play in driving revenue and increasing staff productivity will benefit both our current clients and new properties evaluating Skyware.” Mr. Coyne previously held top executive positions with leading PMS suppliers as well as a ten year sterling career with Chervenak, Keane and Co., a hospitality consulting firm. Mr. Coyne directly assisted Larry Chervenak who was known as 'the' hospitality industry's technology guru and a founding father of HITEC. Mr. Coyne has been a frequent speaker on hotel information processing at hotel schools and at American and European hotel conferences. He was a member of the editorial board of The CKC Report, and his articles have been published in such lodging industry publications as Lodging, the H&A Update, Hotel & Resort Industry and Hotel & Motel Management.

Mr. Coyne said, “Skyware breaks the standard vendor mold in the hospitality industry because of its advanced .Net technology and priority level service that puts the users first in supporting their needs. The Skyware advanced module integration and single-image database platform lets clients manage data as a single property or across multiple properties. This will enhance revenue generation with the advantage of cross selling while centrally managing and controlling operations. Best of all, is that Skyware has successfully achieved the capability to service and support any “mission critical” environment via a browser web based configuration. This is the direction hotel technology is going, and Skyware is already there.” Mr. Coyne also noted that his thirty years experience in marketing, requirements definition, and management of automated systems gives him an excellent framework for assisting properties and hotel groups with the selection of next-generation systems

Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
