Kauai Beach Resort Celebrates New Identity with Introductory Special and Calendar of Cultural Activities

Aqua Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel management company, is pleased to offer several introductory specials at the newly-renamed Kaua‘i Beach Resort in Lîhu‘e, Kaua‘i.

Aqua assumed management of the hotel last July and, with Hilton’s departure at the end of 2009, added marketing services as of January 2010.

“To celebrate our first property on Kaua‘i and the resort’s enthusiastic desire to honor Hawai‘i’s host culture, we are offering several specials in conjunction with the cultural events taking place at the hotel,” said Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s VP Sales & Marketing.

  • Best Available Rate starting at $99 per night for a mountain/garden view room.

The above specials are available until December 21, 2010. Rates quoted are for single or double occupancy, plus taxes, based on availability. There is no minimum night requirement. Maydene Simmons, on-property Director of Sales & Marketing added, “Kaua‘i Beach Resort has always had tremendous appeal to visitors so we’re also working with Elizabeth and her team to develop a public event that re-introduces this wonderful hotel to travelers.”

“Kaua‘i Beach Resort firmly establishes Aqua’s presence in Hawai‘i with 17 properties on four islands,” commented Churchill. “There are great opportunities with Aqua for travelers looking for single and multi-island experiences.”

Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
