theWit Hotel Chicago Appoints New GM, Mark Shouger

TheWit Hotel brand is pleased to welcome Mark Shouger as General Manager of theWit Hotel in Chicago. Shouger brings to theWit’s executive team 25 years of upscale, brand centric experience in the hospitality field.

Shouger, a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, joined Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, progressing rapidly through the rooms division at some of the brand’s most well respected properties including the AAA Five Diamond-rated Hyatt Grand Cypress, Orlando, and the Hyatt Regency Chicago.

In 2000, Shouger joined Loews Hotels and was the senior rooms executive on the leadership team which launched the emerging Hard Rock Hotel brand at the Hard Rock Hotel, Universal Orlando, achieving AAA Four Diamond status and earning Loews Hotels’ coveted Gold Key Award for superiority in rooms division service delivery, financial results and associate satisfaction. Continuing his success with Loews, Shouger became Director of Operations at the venerable Madison Hotel in Washington, DC.

Shouger has also held senior positions within the Marriott and Intercontinental Hotel Group collections, including general manager of the Hotel Indigo in the Boston market where he successfully introduced the brand to New England.
