Benchmark Appoints Scott D. Sopher Exec Chef at Naples Bay Resort

HOUSTON, TX - March 12, 2010 - Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Scott D. Sopher as executive chef for Naples Bay Resort, the luxurious property surrounding a marina in Naples, Florida. Rikki Bopara, general manager for the resort, made the announcement.

“It is a pleasure to formally welcome Scott to Naples Bay Resort,” said Mr. Boparai. “In addition to his impressive culinary expertise, he brings significant understanding of the local and regional markets to our signature restaurant, Olio on Naples Bay, and to our resort’s food & beverage programming.”

Scott Sopher was previously executive chef and equity partner of Cin Cin Mediterranean Cuisine, a Fort Myers restaurant serving cuisine inspired by the diverse cultures and flavors of the Mediterranean. He has also served as executive chef for Traders of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Earlier in his culinary career while based in Asheville, North Carolina, Chef Sopher refined his culinary skills while employed as sous chef for The Richmond Inn. While in Asheville, he participated in prestigious culinary training programs at the landmark Biltmore Estate.

Scott Sopher is a graduate of the acclaimed culinary school, Johnson & Wales University of Providence, Rhode Island. He resides in Bonita Springs with his family.
