August 4, 2010 - Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole was ranked number two in Travel + Leisure’s 2010 World’s Best Awards list in the category of resorts in the continental U.S. and Canada. The resort also claimed the 41st spot in list of the top 100 hotels in the world.

Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards are rated by readers in the categories of hotels, cities, islands, airlines, tour operators, car rental agencies and cruise lines in the magazine’s annual World’s Best Awards readers’ survey. Hotel rankings are based on readers’ ratings of rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food and value. The awards will be featured in the August issue of Travel + Leisure.

“This award is a prized achievement and one that was earned through the collective teamwork and devotion to our guests’ experience by our entire staff,” said Stephen Benson, general manager for the Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole. “It is truly an honor to be recognized in a poll of this prestige by our guests.”

Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
