Orange Beach, AL - August 6, 2010 - Innisfree Hotels and general contractor Robins & Morton are pleased to report on the progress and development of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Orange Beach, Ala. A “Topping Out,” ceremony on August 6th commemorated completion of the building’s foundation and framework and marked a significant milestone in the progression of the new hotel. Construction of the $31 million project is now 40% complete and a grand opening is planned for March 15, 2011.

Robins & Morton chief operating officer, Robin Savage, commented on the project, “The commemoration of placing the final steel beam of the hotel structure into place is a continuation of a long-standing tradition in the construction industry. We celebrate and applaud the efforts of our construction team, the developers and everyone involved in the building of the new Hampton Inn & Suites.”

Founder and chief executive officer of Innisfree Hotels, Julian MacQueen, and president of Innisfree Development Jeff Townsend joined future general manager, Gabe DiCianni at the Topping Out ceremony. Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
