The new property features 203 suites and a prime location in “El Viñedo,” a cosmopolitan area in the heart of the financial and commercial center of North Valencia.

The Valencia-Downtown hotel joins the brand’s Latin American portfolio, which includes hotels in Bogotá, Colombia; Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic; Mexico City, Mexico; Dorado and San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Caracas.

“We are pleased to showcase the flexibility and value of the Embassy Suites brand to hotel developers in Latin America,” commented Jim Holthouser, global head, Embassy Suites Hotels and Full Service Brands, Hilton Worldwide. “Our portfolio of design options allows developers to choose the prototype that best fits their market, whether urban, secondary or suburban. We will be further strengthening the brand’s presence throughout Latin America, with plans to open hotels in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Panama City, Panama, over the next few years,” Holthouser continued.

Business travelers to Valencia will appreciate the hotel’s close proximity to major corporations, including a number of vehicle, food service and pharmaceutical companies; Goodyear, Bridgestone Firestone, Shell, Novartis, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Kraft Foods, and Coca-Cola all have operations in the area.

The hotel’s close location to beautiful beaches and historical and cultural sites will be a huge draw for leisure and business travelers looking for ways to explore the local culture in their down time. Some of the major nearby attractions include the Parque Nacional Morrocoy, Forum de Valencia, Sambil and Metropolis shopping centers and Parque Negra Hipolita.

Consistent with the Embassy Suites Hotels value proposition, the new Valencia hotel will offer guests upscale two-room suites, complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and evening Manager’s Reception*. Hotel Human Resources: The Biggest Challenges
The economic challenges of the past four years have led many hotel companies to re-examine the ways in which they do business and how they deploy talent. In many cases, the work did not go away and fewer people were left to carry on the tasks that had previously been shared among many. As we work our way out of the recession and look forward to a healthier economic environment, there is an understanding that despite recovering business levels, we may never see the return of former staffing levels. This "new norm" of operating with leaner teams has led Human Resources professionals and people managers to look at career development and growth opportunities in a new light. The March Hotel Business Review will take a look at some of the strategies being used by successful hotel brands, and techniques human resource directors are currently exploring.
