HITEC 2011 App for iPhone and Android Available for Free Download

AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA - June 10, 2011 - Updated for HITEC 2011, the iPhone and Android mobile applications, or “apps,” are now available for free in advance of the 2011 Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC). Featuring the conference schedule, exhibitor information, a new mapping feature and compatibility with both the iPhone and Android, the app offers customized conference content for attendees. Other Internet-capable smart devices can access a free mobile Internet version at www.hftp.org/hitecmobile. HITEC is less than two weeks away, June 20-23 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. Releasing the app in advance of the show empowers conference attendees to strategically plan their time onsite.

"Our HITEC attendees are avid users of the latest technologies who demand the HITEC conference remain on the cutting-edge," said Frank Wolfe, CAE, CEO of HFTP. "With the HITEC app, conference-goers can quickly access the schedule and navigate their way through our top-notch educational sessions and the entire exhibit hall using their own personal smart devices."

The app offers many new features for HITEC 2011, including a unique mapping component where attendees can select the exhibitor they want to see and immediately pinpoint the booth location on the show floor. In addition, the app offers conference-goers a "My Schedule" feature where they can conveniently plan which education sessions to attend. The app also includes the HITEC education survey, giving attendees an opportunity to provide education session feedback in real time rather than after the conference concludes. This feature gives conference organizers a fresh perspective that will help plan future HITEC conferences.

The free iPhone and Adriod app can be downloaded at the iTunes store and Android Market by searching for "HITEC." After downloading the app, attendees can sign up for free push notifications about the latest HITEC news. All other smartphones can access the free mobile version, which includes identical features to the app, using their Internet browser at www.hftp.org/hitecmobile.
