Recharge Your Electric Car Batteries at Hotel Fifty

Portland's Hotel Fifty debuts electric car charging station

PORTLAND, OR - August 16, 2011 - Electric cars can now pull in to Hotel Fifty's valet to plug in and charge up. The Blink® Wall-Mount charging station at Hotel Fifty, which is the first hotel in Oregon to house a charging station, can charge two cars at a time.

The Blink Wall-Mount charging station opened to the public on August 11, 2011 as part of The EV Project of Western Oregon. The EV Project is a public-private partnership sponsored by the Department of Energy that is managed by ECOtality, Inc.

"It’s exciting to be the first hotel in Oregon to offer a charging station for electric cars," said Terry Hanley, general manager of Hotel Fifty. "With our electric car charging station, we're able to reflect our commitment to sustainability, efficiency and waste reduction, and offer amenities that are useful to our guests."

The electric car charge is free with valet parking. Valet parking is free for up to two hours for guests of H5O bistro & bar, or $27 overnight.

To celebrate the debut of it electric car charging station, Hotel Fifty has announced the "Recharge Your Batteries" package for guests who’d like to recharge their cars and stay overnight. The package includes valet parking, an overnight electric car charge and accommodation in a well-appointed guest room with a Simmons® Beautyrest Black™ Beverly Hills™ plush memory foam bed wrapped in luxury linens, oversized walk-in shower with rainhead, Gilchrist & Soames bath amenities, 42” HDTV, complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, a copy of USA Today and more.
