Kirk S. Pederson Appointed CIO and COO of Chartres Lodging Group

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - January 10, 2012 - Chartres Lodging Group, LLC, the hotel and investment advisory firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kirk S. Pederson as Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer. In his position, Pederson will be responsible for new acquisitions as well as the operations and management of Chartres’ current $2.2 billion, 12,500-room portfolio of luxury and upscale hotels, conference centers and resorts. His leadership in the day-to-day functions will also provide support for Chartres’ CEO and President, enabling them to focus on overall strategy and capital fund raising. Simultaneously, Rob Kline will be appointed CEO and Co-Founder and Maki Nakamura Bara will be appointed President and Co-Founder.

Pederson has more than 15 years of experience in the lodging industry and been responsible for more than $5 billion in properties throughout the United States and Mexico. Prior to joining Chartres, Pederson was responsible for spearheading West Coast and Hawaii lodging investments on behalf of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, Prime Property Fund and Morgan Stanley separate accounts. His experience also includes development and asset management roles with General American Hospitality, MeriStar Hospitality Corporation and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

Pederson has studied at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland, and holds a degree from the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Pederson is a member of the Hospitality Asset Manager Association.
