Dolce Names Manager to Support North American Development Efforts

ROCKLEIGH, NJ - January 23, 2012 - Dolce Hotels and Resorts has appointed Gary Hwang manager of acquisitions, feasibility & investment analysis, responsible for supporting the company’s expansion in North America.

Hwang’s responsibilities include preparing pro forma analyses, forecasts, market analyses, performance data, financial models and responses to requests for proposals. He will report to John Betancourt, senior vice president, development services, and support the company’s new business solicitation efforts.

Hwang previously served Horwath HTL (Hotel, Tourism and Leisure), one of the world’s largest hospitality consulting firms, in Hong Kong as a consultant, writing in-depth hotel feasibility reports for hotel projects in mainland China and making assessments and recommendations on new-build hospitality projects for clients.

From 2007 to 2010, he was feasibility & development manager for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, White Plains, N.Y., where he created hotel pro forma reports, analyzed markets and modeled financial returns for managed and company-owned hotels in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

Prior to that, he was acquisitions analyst for Prudential Real Estate Investors, Parsippany, N.J., where he helped underwrite acquisition and development deals in the Northeast and Midwest for several institutional funds, modeling equity structures for joint-venture partnerships, conducting market research and preparing presentations for the firm’s investment committee.

Hwang graduated from the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, Ithaca, N.Y., in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree and concentration in real estate finance. He previously served as president of the Westchester/Fairfield Chapter of the Cornell Hotel Society, the alumni organization of his alma mater.
