Choice and Sunflower Hospitality to Develop 122-room Cambria Suites in Miami

Anticipated Opening for Summer 2013

SILVER SPRING, MD - January 31, 2012 - Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) announced the development of a new Cambria Suites hotel in Miami, FL, today at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit. The property will be developed by Miami-based Sunflower Hospitality LLC.

The Miami property signifies the expansion of the Cambria Suites brand into major urban markets, following the recent announcement of two new development deals in New York City and one in Washington, DC. Additionally, Choice Hotels has acquired land parcels in five other major markets for potential future development.

"The Miami development reflects our commitment to expanding the Cambria Suites brand into urban markets," said Stephen P. Joyce, president and CEO of Choice Hotels International. "The Miami property will provide great value to leisure and business travelers alike in an upscale, contemporary atmosphere."

The 122-room Cambria Suites will be located near the Blue Lagoon at NW 7th Street, convenient to Miami International Airport. The new property features an outdoor pool and views of Lake Mahar from guestrooms. Construction on the property is set to commence in 2012, with the property anticipated to open in summer 2013. Also, being close to Miami International Airport the USA's number one gateway to South and Latin America gives the hotel the perfect opportunity to serve International travelers.

"We are excited to develop a cutting-edge lake-view hotel under the Cambria Suites brand," said Alfredo Himiob, general manager of Sunflower Hospitality LLC. "The new property will be a stylish, modern addition to the Blue Lagoon area."

Designed as a lifestyle hotel brand, Cambria Suites offers more than just a place to sleep at night. It features a larger lobby to give guests a more social atmosphere, all-suite rooms that are larger than standard hotel rooms and include separate living, working and sleeping space, providing business and leisure travelers a haven to relax, socialize and network. There are currently 18 properties open across the country, with additional properties in development.

Like all Cambria Suites hotels, the Miami property will feature: Reflect, a casual dining and gathering area serving a dinner menu, liquor, wine, beer, freshly prepared grab-and-go gourmet salads and sandwiches, a barista bar featuring Wolfgang Puck® coffee, Cheesecake Factory® desserts and a hot breakfast buffet; Refresh, a state-of-the-art fitness center with an elegant pool and hot tub/spa area; and Refill, a 24-7 convenience store that offers energy drinks, snacks and sundries.
