Omni Hotels & Resorts to Reflag Oceanfront Resort on Hilton Head Island

Luxury Hotel Brand Rebrands Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort

HILTON HEAD, SC - February 1, 2012 - Omni Hotels & Resorts today officially rebrands the Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort to become the Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort. A ceremony commemorating the change will be held at the luxury resort at 11am with local dignitaries, friends and members of the community. To welcome the Omni brand to the destination, Hilton Head Mayor Drew Laughlin, and Bill Miles, President and CEO of Hilton Head Island – Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, will be attending the celebration. Omni Hotels & Resorts’ Regional Vice President of Operations, Gary Froeba will be in attendance, along with the resort’s General Manager, Helen Simmons.

The rebranding is part of a long term management agreement for the property. The resort has been successfully managed within Omni’s overall portfolio under its sibling company, Allegiance Hospitality, since 2003. During that time, the resort achieved the AAA four-diamond designation. The property will now launch an estimated $18 million renovation plan in 2012 and 2013 as part of the transition, to further distinguish it from the competition. Enhancements will be reflected throughout the public spaces, including the front and lobby entrance, pool area and resort courtyard as well as the meeting space and each of the 323 guest rooms and suites.

“Our resort team is thrilled to be the newest member of the Omni Hotels & Resort brand,” said General Manager, Helen Simmons. “We are excited and incredibly proud to bring a new level of service and luxury to our island destination and are positive that the new Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort will exceed all expectations.”

Located on Hilton Head Island on the banks of South Carolina, the beachfront resort showcases beautiful views from its 323 guest rooms, the largest on the island as well as one- and two-bedroom suites. The property has over 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including beachfront venues, numerous restaurants, the Ocean Tides Spa and pools lined with private cabanas. As part of the prestigious Palmetto Dunes community, the resort offers an 11-mile lagoon system for kayaking or canoeing, bike trails, 25 tennis courts and 54 holes of championship golf.
