Hostmark Hospitality Finds Success with the Lexington Collection Hotel Brand

CLEVELAND - February 2, 2012 - When Hostmark Hospitality took over as the management company of the bankrupt Hotel Classique in Edison, NJ last November, they knew immediately they wanted to rebrand it as a Lexington Inn, part of Vantage Hospitality Group and the Lexington Collection® of hotels, inns, and suites.

“Hostmark is thrilled to partner with Lexington for the Edison, NJ hotel. We had phenomenal results at the Lexington Hotel in Key West where we saw revenue growth and cost efficiencies from the Lexington name. The rate support gave our ownership substantially more bottom line yields than were promised,” said Biff Hawkey, senior vice president of development for Hostmark.

Early in 2011, Hostmark took over the 141-room Holiday Inn in Key West, FL as the management company and chose to re-flag the hotel to Lexington for several reasons. “Unlike some other typical franchises, Lexington has very reasonable Property Improvement Plans. Instead of mandating items that don’t always make sense for our property and location, they allow us to make the improvements that will help us better serve our market niche,” said Robert Cataldo, vice chairman and COO of Hostmark. “The property was also in need of a better distribution network and Lexington has provided all the resources we need.”

The Lexington Inn Edison has 108 spacious guest rooms and easy access to the surrounding business centers, Rutgers University, Garden State Parkway, and the New Jersey Turnpike. The hotel provides guests with a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, on-site business center, guest laundry and fitness center. It also has a small conference room that may be used for small to mid-sized events.

“We’re very excited to have the Edison, NJ property in our system,” said Bill Hanley, group president for Lexington. “And with our well-established relationship with Hostmark, I have no doubt that we will be able to provide outstanding revenue resources and see some great results in a short amount of time – just like we did with the Lexington Key West.”

Hanley expects Lexington to add at least 15 properties by the end of the year. The Lexington brands currently include 25 properties either in the system or under development throughout the United States and China. For more information, please visit www.LexingtonCollection.com or call 888-316-2378.
