Red Lion Hotels Partners With Concept Amenities to Create Memorable Guest Experiences

February 3, 2012 - Taking its commitment to creating memorable guest experiences to the next level, Red Lion Hotels Corporation is partnering with Concept Amenities, a global leader in the supply of environmentally responsible guest bath amenities, to provide eco-friendly products to its millions of annual guests.

Headquartered in Spokane, Washington, the Red Lion Hotels Corporation owns, operates and franchises nearly 50 properties in nine Western states and one Canadian province including British Columbia, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Beginning this month, Red Lion Hotels will stock guestrooms, in all RHL properties, with Eco.Fresh Pure, a custom range of bath & body cosmetics created especially for the hotel brand. The liquids and soaps, in ERP™ (Environmentally Responsible Product), are 15ml tubes and 15g and 30g bars; the plastic packaging completely biodegrades in landfill and is recyclable, which dovetails with Red Lion Hotels overall commitment to becoming more eco-friendly.

And the story gets better; Red Lion Hotels worked closely with designers to create a coordinating wooden amenity tray, with a slot, that will carry a message of planet stewardship alerting consumers to the environmental aspects of the new toiletries; paraben-free liquids and biodegradable packaging.

“Sustainability is extremely important to us,” says Richard Gleave, corporate director of facilities, design and construction for Red Lion Hotels Corporation; currently leading sustainability efforts for the brand. “We are an Energy Star Partner and fully committed to improving our carbon footprint. Resulting from our commitment, we have been reviewing all internal spending to establish where we can improve. The use of Eco.Fresh products is another important step in achieving our environmental goals.”

According to Connie Mullerleile, procurement manager for Red Lion Hotels, the chain is reviewing additional eco-friendly guest amenities. “We constantly evaluate all the products we purchase, for guests and everyday use, to determine where we can improve in both cost and environmental impact,” explains Mullerleile.

Sound Business Forms, a family-owned printing/ distribution company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, played a key role in forging the Red Lion Hotels-Concept Amenities collaboration.

“Having partnered with both Red Lion Hotels and Concept Amenities for many years,” says Kristi Brenden, vice president at Sound Business Forms, “it seemed a natural next step to propose Concept Amenities' eco-friendly products to Red Lion Hotels' as they work to initiate environmental solutions across all properties. We’re proud to have been an integral part of the process, from design, through to distribution."

With its invigorating, citrus-fragrant ingredients the complete Eco.Fresh range of guest amenity essentials are designed to cater to all personal needs. Liquids and soaps have been formulated with essential ingredients to maintain moisture for clean and healthy skin and hair.
