New York Palace Introduces ‘Have a Heart Program’

Luxury Hotel Helps Raise Awareness of Heart Disease Through Dynamic New Program, a Portion of the Proceeds Benefitting the American Heart Association®

New York, NY - February 3, 2012 - For the entire month of February, The New York Palace will invite visitors to participate in its new Have a Heart Program, reminding people to take care of the heart(s) they love. Reinforcing the American Heart Association®’s Go Red For Women™ cause, The New York Palace will showcase the signature ‘red dress’ symbol throughout the hotel, with the famous courtyard as the focal point. The new program will also feature a Have a Heart hotel package, a Heart-Healthy weekend brunch, and a specialty cocktail. The Palace will provide a donation to the American Heart Association® in honor of its guests who participate in its Have a Heart program.

Throughout February, The Palace will show its support for The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women program, which was originally created to dispel myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women. The red dress symbol represents the passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health. The Palace’s renowned Courtyard will become a celebratory destination for this cause, featuring eye-catching projections of red dresses onto the historic hotel’s exterior. Additionally, all of The New York Palace staff will honor AHA by wearing the Go Red For Women™’s signature red dress pin on National Wear Red Day, February 3rd.

Each weekend in February, The Palace’s restaurant Istana will offer a delicious Heart-Healthy Brunch menu, featuring such dishes as Whole Grain Pancakes with Blueberries and low fat yogurt, Egg White Frittata, and Steel Cut Oatmeal with Fresh Berries. The Red Ruffle, a signature cocktail including Chambord, champagne and pomegranate juice will be made available daily at GILT Bar.

The Palace’s Have a Heart Package will include luxury guest room accommodations; a $100 Food & Beverage daily credit which can be used towards the Heart-Healthy Brunch in Istana; two welcome cocktails including a choice of a glass of red wine or the Red Ruffle; a special Go Red For Women keepsake; and a commemorative Go Red For Women red dress pin. This weekend package starts at $359/night and is based on availability.
