Tampa Airport Marriott Completes $9M Renovation

Project Transforms its 298 Guest Rooms and Public Spaces

TAMPA, FL - February 3, 2012 - Tampa Airport Marriott, an AAA Three-Diamond property situated inside the Tampa International Airport on Florida’s west coast, announced today the completion of its $9 million renovation project, inclusive of a full guestroom transformation.

“Our hotel has reached a significant milestone,” said Zach Curry, general manager. “The Tampa Airport Marriott is known for combining gracious hospitality with convenience and functionality. With the culmination of our renovations, we have succeeded in furthering the level of functionality to dramatically enhance the overall guest experience for business, leisure and group travelers alike.”

A “Travelers’ Oasis” that affords visitors the convenience of a short indoor walk from front desk to flight gate, the property’s renovations include a complete overhaul to the guest rooms, including bathrooms and suites, as well as revitalization to the Concierge Lounge and corridors.

Guest Rooms
Featuring triple-pane glass windows for a quiet and relaxed stay, Tampa Airport Marriott’s 298 guest rooms – inclusive of three suites – now boast the Refreshing Mint Marriott design package. A nature-inspired, fresh green palette and organic elements throughout provide a calming retreat with new upholstery, bedding, accents, carpeting, walls and more. Splashes of mint green compliment the rich chocolate brown present in the carpet and accents, while dark burgundy wine upholstery with deep pattern texture is utilized on the ottomans.

All guestrooms now feature 37” high-definition LCD TV’s; new, destination-inspired photographic wall art; all new soft goods including mattresses, box springs, bedding and drapery; improved lighting; and renovated bathrooms. The hotel’s bathrooms, which were previously small, European-style, have been completely remodeled to increase functionality and better use of space with glass shelving and vanity storage. The hotel’s 191 king-bedrooms boast a new, walk-in shower with frameless doors in the bathrooms, and the addition of a sleeper-sofa in the rooms.

Corridors
Corridors throughout the property have been revitalized with new carpeting, lighting and signage, as well as refinished doors to all guestrooms.

Concierge Lounge
A premier business hotel with 16 meeting rooms and 18,000 square feet of total meeting space, the Tampa Airport Marriott’s Concierge Lounge renovations offer enhanced aesthetics and functionality in a quiet setting for group and executive travelers. Fully transformed with new carpeting, lighting, wallpaper, accents, furniture and connectivity capabilities throughout, the Concierge Lounge now offers plush family room-style chairs and sofas; a communal table that seats up to six people; and a bar-style seating area that runs the wall-length, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the runway. Guests also have access to a computer station and printer.

Completion of the renovations, particularly to the guest rooms, has transformed the offerings of the Tampa Airport Marriott and its overall feel. Providing supreme functionality in all areas of the property, guests are afforded the highest level of flexibility and convenience that is expected at a leading Marriott-brand hotel. To further enhance its amenities, the Tampa Airport Marriott also plans to refresh its lobby restaurant beginning Spring, 2012.
