Woodside to Operate 48-room Hotel Drisco in San Francisco

San Francisco, CA - February 13, 2012 - The Hotel Drisco, one of the top-rated hotels in San Francisco, has announced that it has selected Menlo Park-based Woodside Hotels to operate the hotel. Located on Pacific Avenue in San Francisco’s charming Pacific Heights neighborhood, the 48-room Hotel Drisco is consistently ranked as one of the City’s finest hotels on the influential Trip Advisor website and is listed in the book 1,000 Places To See Before You Die!

The Hotel Drisco will be the first San Francisco location for Woodside, which operates hotels, restaurants and spas around the greater Bay Area, ranging from the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa in the south up to the Napa Valley Lodge in Yountville to the north. “We have been interested in working in San Francisco for quite some time, but just hadn’t found the right hotel for our group until the Hotel Drisco. The excellent neighborhood location, extremely positive culture on the property and long-term perspective that the owners have brought to the hotel are a great fit for a 40-year old, family company like ours,” said Greg Alden, President of Woodside.

Woodside has replaced Joie De Vivre Hotels as the property’s management company, yet the ownership of the Hotel Drisco, represented by Managing Partner Thomas Callinan, will remain the same. According to Thomas, “We felt the time was right to work with a new management company who could continue to embrace the warm and inviting atmosphere of the hotel, and one who could relate well to our deeply loyal customers who consider the Drisco their home away from home. I believe that Woodside’s approach to hospitality and their prestigious Bay Area portfolio of hotels and resorts was a terrific fit for us and our guests.”

With the management change, The Hotel Drisco has a new logo and website, and anticipates additional upgrades over the coming year. The hotel has very dedicated and long tenured employees and no personnel changes are expected as a result of the change in management companies.
