Safemark Systems New Desk-Drawer Safe

Hotel Designers Embrace Discreet, Stylish In-Room Safe

. October 14, 2008

FEBRUARY 12, 2007. Safemark Systems today introduced an innovative new hotel room safe that can be secured in a desk drawer for ease of access and ultimate traveler security. The safe, designed to protect a 15-inch laptop computer plus wallets, music players and other electronic devices and valuables, debuted at the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York

Hotel and suite designers welcome the evolution of a desk-drawer safe because it's well concealed and offers convenient access where hotel guests typically do their work - at the desk and work area. The metal, top-open drawer safe is engineered with hydraulic arms and 4-3/4-inch locking bolts for additional security. It can be opened only with the guest's programmed digital combination.

"The beauty of this innovative new safe is that it's totally secure, well hidden in the desk drawer and right at the fingertips of guests who are busy with their work or on a phone call - no need to move from the desk area to access important belongings," said John Foley, vice president of sales for Safemark Systems. "Hotel room and suite designers love it because it's unobtrusive; guests love it because it offers convenience and peace of mind."

The safe is secured to the desk by steel wire cables to thwart removal from the room. In addition, Safemark provides guests a 5-year/$5,000 warranty for theft against forcible entry.

In a recent survey conducted by research firm D.K. Shifflet & Associates, 72 percent of respondents said that hotels offering in-room safes demonstrated more consideration toward their guests. The study also revealed that 58 percent of business travelers and 49 percent of leisure travelers secure their belongings using in-room safes.

Safemark, headquartered in Orlando, Fla., offers a wide variety of superior guest room safes in various configurations that are designed to meet the needs of travelers and businesses. Depending on the safe's size and shape, the various models are designed to conveniently store such items as laptops, palm pilots, video and digital cameras, purses, jewelry and much more.

Unparalleled in its reputation for exemplary customer service, Safemark recently ranked in the top 5 percent for overall customer satisfaction in an independent study of leading hotel franchisers and operators.
