BUCKS COUNTY, PA, February 13, 2007. The works of artists Jenny Schaeffer and Patrick Otterson are now on display at the Bucks County Visitor Center, 3207 Street Road, Bensalem, sponsored by the New Hope Arts Commission and funded in part by the Borough of New Hope and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. The artwork is available for purchase through Paul Licitra, Director of New Hope Arts Commission, 267-918-1244 or [email protected]. The exhibit will be open through April 2, 2007, and is free and open to the public. Images are available upon request.

More about the artists:

Jenny Schaeffer began painting at age three and never stopped. She loves to paint landscapes and nature scenes and her medium of choice is oil paint. Schaeffer's style is a magnificent blend of impressionism and realism. Schaeffer's backgrounds replicate early French impressionism with soft, unfocused strikes while her foregrounds masterfully capture specific, realistic details. Currently, Schaeffer is selling a new set of drawings and cards depicting the Silver Lake area in Yardley, PA. A portion of the proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Makefield Lakes Community Association.

Patrick Otterson is a self-taught artist from Northeast Philadelphia. He paints mostly from photographs and his medium of choice is oil paints. Most of Otterson's paintings are of landscapes. This is his first time being featured in an exhibit. The only other time Otterson displayed his work was in the 1950's, and the painting displayed at that time is on display right now at the Bucks County Visitor Center.
