613-room Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive Completes Multi-million Dollar Renovation

Orlando, FL - March 17, 2014 - As one of the first resorts to open on Orlando's now rejuvenated International Drive, Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is once again helping to change the face of Central Florida's hospitality scene with the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation.

A distinctive departure from the expected in America's most popular destination - where urban sophistication combines with a verdant backdrop of gracious tropical gardens - the resort offers a newly renovated lobby lounge, guestrooms and 25,000 square feet of newly constructed meeting space and expansive outdoor venues for weddings and events. The completed hotel renovation complements an expansive 100,000-square-feet retail and dining development, I-Shops, taking shape on International Drive.

Beginning in 2012, the two-year renovation project at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive touched every aspect of the property, creating a completely re-imagined guest experience that graciously balances the needs of both leisure and business guests in one cohesive environment.

Upon arrival, guests now pass under a grand porte-cochère before entering the fully remodeled lobby outfitted in a chic, modernized palette by New York-based design firm Krause+Sawyer. Guests first gaze upon a striking chandelier custom-created by Neidhardt Lighting and are then greeted by warm tones of natural materials like wood, marble and tile that are juxtaposed by strong accents of black-and-white stripes and cheerful patterns. Designed to seamlessly transition from indoor to outdoor spaces, the light and airy lobby leads guests' eyes to a connecting patio and beyond to the pool area.

An open, convivial lobby lounge offers ample seating areas with inviting touches such as an impressive selection of lifestyle, travel and design books and easily accessible power outlets to plug-in to electronic devices. A 'user-friendly' environment, the lobby longue offers a communal networking station where guests can surf the Internet, print travel documents, enjoy their own devices or unwind. Guests are just as likely to encounter a business traveler preparing for upcoming meetings as they are long-time friends catching up over drinks at the sleek new lobby bar.

The 613 well-appointed guestrooms, laid out across several free-standing buildings on the resort's sprawling grounds, feature stylish contemporary decor that complements the lobby interior. Features include bed and desk furnishings in warm wood tones, crisp white linens accented by bold shots of poppy red and cool blue accessories, black-and-white area rugs and vivacious artwork. This distinctive family room concept speaks to both parents' practicality and children's imaginations, with a special kid-friendly nook just off the main bedroom equipped with bunk beds, a bean bag chair and their very own wall-mounted TV.

The hotel's meeting space renovation includes a new 25,000 square-foot Ballroom, for a variety of business functions, social events and conferences. Exterior renovations are near completion as well, with new landscaping on the Grand Lawn - a highly sought-after wedding destination - and stylish new furniture on the decks of the resort's heated outdoor swimming pools. Additional upgrades are set to take place throughout 2014.. Cooper's Hawk Winery, a new full-service restaurant offering modern casual dining and handcrafted wines, is scheduled to open by the fall.

International Drive's exciting redevelopment will culminate in a new $200 million entertainment complex just south of the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. The complex includes restaurants, clubs, shops and three thrilling attractions operated by Merlin Entertainments: the 400-foot iconic observation wheel the Orlando Eye, SEA LIFE Aquarium and a Madame Tussauds wax attraction. Restaurants will open beginning in spring of 2014 with the main opening of the complex scheduled for spring of 2015.
