New General Managers Selected for Two Andaz Hotels

Jeffrey Miller named General Manager of Andaz San Diego; Rusty Middleton named General Manager of Andaz Wall Street

CHICAGO - March 28, 2014 - The Andaz brand today announced that two current Andaz general managers will switch roles. Jeffrey Miller, current general manager of Andaz Wall Street, will become the new general manager of Andaz San Diego while Rusty Middleton, currently Andaz San Diego's general manager will move to Andaz Wall Street to serve as general manager.

“The Andaz brand is all about breaking down barriers and encouraging guests to move seamlessly from one experience to the next, and we feel it is important to take this concept and make it applicable to our colleagues as well,” said Rakesh Sarna, Group President of the Americas for Hyatt. “Both Jeffrey and Rusty have brought so much enthusiasm, talent and positive momentum to this brand, and we're excited to have them grow and learn from each other's accomplishments and experiences in these two exciting markets.”

Jeffrey Miller brings 24 years of experience with Hyatt to his new role at Andaz San Diego, with previous positions at the former Park Hyatt Los Angeles, Grand Hyatt New York and Hyatt at The Bellevue, where he oversaw the successful rebranding of the hotel. During his time at Andaz Wall Street, Miller was integral to the hotel's success, including overseeing a multi-million dollar renovation of Andaz Studio meeting and event space that suffered significant damage from Hurricane Sandy in early 2013.

While Miller heads West, Rusty Middleton heads East, bringing more than 21 years of Hyatt experience with him. Before opening Andaz San Diego in 2010, Middleton served as general manager of Hyatt Lodge at McDonald's Campus in Oak Brook, Ill. and held positions with the Hyatt Regency brand in San Francisco, Chicago, Denver and Knoxville. Under Middleton's leadership, Andaz San Diego recently acquired the AAA Four Diamond award and was voted best hotel in the Gaslamp Quarter by the Gaslamp Quarter Association.

Miller and Middleton will spend time together at both hotels until officially assuming their new roles on April 7, 2014.
