July 8, 2014 - Australia's new ultra-luxury private island resort, One&Only Hayman Island, started welcoming guests earlier - the iconic resort is reborn as part of the exclusive One&Only collection after an $80 million dollar investment.

Set in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, One&Only Hayman Island is surrounded by astonishing natural beauty and introduces new suite accommodation, redesigned spaces and restaurants, new adult and family experiences and the unrivalled One&Only service standards to Australia.

The opening was marked by Alan Leibman, chief executive of Kerzner International, and Mark DeCocinis, president of One&Only Resorts, who joined Seng Huang Lee, executive chairman of Mulpha, the owner of the resort, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony as the first guests arrived.

“A new era has begun at this iconic Australian resort as we introduce One&Only Hayman Island to the world,” said Seng Huang Lee.

“The transformational refurbishment combined with One&Only's innovation and commitment to delivering an extraordinary level of service will redefine luxury travel in Australia.”

One&Only Hayman Island will offer an unparalleled commitment to the finest holiday experiences on every possible level.

One&Only resorts are infused with a personality borne of their local culture, warmed by genuine hospitality and invigorated with a lively energy that creates a One&Only experience.

“We are excited to begin welcoming guests to One&Only Hayman Island, our first resort in the Asia Pacific region,” said Leibman.

“The combination of this incredible private island in the Great Barrier Reef, the significant investment of $80 million made by our fantastic partners, Mulpha and our own One&Only team dedicated to providing guests with amazing experiences through our unique brand of service, represents an exciting addition to the luxury Australian travel market.

“We are confident that the new One&Only experience will bring more Australians and international guests alike to the Great Barrier Reef.”
