The Red Lion Inn in the Berkshires Launches Hospitality Management Company
Main Street Hospitality Group (MSHG) continues to expand their hospitality philosophy from their base in Stockbridge, Mass.
Stockbridge, MA - September 19, 2014 - Formed in 2014 at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Mass., Main Street Hospitality Group is a privately held hotel management company that is continually expanding beyond its Stockbridge base, most recently working with properties in Williamstown and Pittsfield, Mass. The group's properties are spread throughout The Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, a scenic region full of history, culture and farm-to-table culinary experiences.
Main Street Hospitality Group (MSHG) owns and operates The Red Lion Inn and manages the Elm Street Market in Stockbridge, Mass. and The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Mass. In May, 2014, MSHG began managing The Williams Inn in Williamstown, Mass. and is set to add a new 45-room property in Pittsfield, Mass., Hotel on North, which is scheduled to open in May, 2015.
The formation of MSHG is rooted in a strong and extensive background of hospitality. This includes the Fitzpatrick Family, now in its third generation of management at The Red Lion Inn under the leadership of Sarah Eustis. The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA
Opened in July, 2001, The Porches Inn at MASS MoCA is comprised of seven renovated Victorian-era buildings that originally provided housing for the area's mill workers. Located across the street from the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA), Porches' guest rooms and public spaces employ a clever synthesis of retro and contemporary designs. The Inn's 47 rooms and suites are fully wired, offering high-speed WiFi and DSL Internet access, dual phone lines and complimentary DVDs. The Inn features a year-round outdoor pool, hot tub, sauna, bonfire pit, fitness room and three meetings and events spaces that accommodate groups from 2 to 50.
The Williams Inn
MSHG assumed management of The Williams Inn after it was purchased by Williams College in May, 2014. The group has made several changes, including the appointment of Adam Brassard to the role of Executive Chef in July, 2014. Brassard, who worked as Sous Chef at The Red Lion Inn under Executive Chef Brian Alberg, has crafted new menus with a focus on regional and seasonal ingredients, leveraging The Red Lion Inn's network of over 80 regional farmers and food producers.
The Williams Inn is situated on the campus of Williams College. A convenient site for groups, the Inn offers 124 rooms, two on-site dining options and four function spaces that can accommodate events from 10 to 250. The Williams Inn is located near numerous popular tour travel destinations. It is a short walk to historic downtown Williamstown, The Clark Art Institute, Williamstown Theatre Festival and many natural attractions including the Appalachian and Mohawk Trails. The Inn provides complimentary WiFi, offers on-site catering, meeting and banquet spaces, group rates and complimentary coach parking.
New for 2015: Hotel on North, Pittsfield, Mass.
In early 2014, MSHG announced the development of a new boutique hotel on North Street in downtown Pittsfield, Mass., Hotel on North. The hotel will be a 45 room property featuring an eclectic mix of furnishings and decor to reflect its heritage as an iconic early 20th century department store in the center of downtown Pittsfield. Hotel on North will include two restaurants, a small media space for groups and two smaller meeting facilities to accommodate intimate group meetings and offer a private space for events.
