Hotel Association of Canada Awards Bellstar Hotels & Resorts 2014 Green Key Environmental Award
CALGARY, ALBERTA - November 20, 2014 - As part of the Hotel Association of Canada's (HAC) Hall of Fame Awards of Excellence program, Bellstar Hotels & Resorts was just awarded the 2014 Green Key Environmental Award.
The award recognizes lodging companies that have developed a culture toward integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday lodging operations while maintaining quality service and guest expectations. Companies must demonstrate success in one or more of the following areas: energy conservation, solid waste reduction, effluents and emissions, water conservation, purchasing, and business issues.

Since its inception in 2003, Bellstar has been developing and operating boutique hotels and resorts in Western Canada with a special interest in contributing to a greener planet and a greener hospitality experience. Bellstar has taken the initiative to create its own personal sustainability plan, “StayTM | Green”, for resort operations and real estate development. The comprehensive plan incorporates a companywide, triple bottom line operating policy and environmentally friendly business practice program to educate guests, suppliers, and staff to help preserve the planet for future generations.
