. November 26, 2014

GSTAAD, Switzerland - November 256, 2014 - The newest luxury hotel to open in the Swiss Alpine village of Gstaad announced that it has joined Preferred Pride, a program of the Preferred Hotel Group™. A contemporary interpretation of traditional Swiss architecture incorporating local materials and authentic Alpine style, The Alpina Gstaad has been gathering accolades and hosting satisfied guests since opening in December 2012.

Managing Director Eric Favre said, "The Alpina Gstaad is the perfect getaway for active travelers, food lovers and seasoned travelers who are looking for a luxury hotel that provides an opportunity to truly relax and recharge."

Gstaad offers a wealth of winter sports activities including skiing (both downhill and cross country), snowboarding, sledging, ice climbing, ice skating, snowshoeing, dog sledding, horse drawn sleigh rides and exploring Glacier 3000.

"Our Restaurant Sommet was awarded its first Michelin star last year, and MEGU which serves contemporary Japanese cuisine, is one of the area's most popular dining spots," Mr. Favre explained. "At our Six Senses Spa, in addition to an extensive range of body treatments and massages, we are focusing on special areas of wellness," he said.

Four retreats in Mindful Leadership and Sophrology - led by experts in these fields - will be offered in December and March and are designed to recalibrate guests' minds and bodies for a complete immersion into healthy and mindful living.

The Alpina Gstaad was the first luxury property in Gstaad to join the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA®).

Preferred Hotel Group's Preferred Pride collection launched in June 2011. To be eligible, hotels must be either TAG Approved® (Community Marketing's Travel Alternative Group) or belong to IGLTA®. Both organizations are universally recognized to set the standards for LGBT travel. Hotels that participate in Preferred Pride are offered diversity training on best practices in serving the LGBT community from check-in to check-out.
