WHAT: The Westin Verasa Napa is proud to announce that Don Shindle was recently awarded General Manager of the Year in the Mid-Size Hotel Category at the California Hotel & Lodging Association's (CH&LA) 2014 Stars of the Industry awards.

The annual Stars of the Industry awards, presented by USA TODAY, are given out to honor lodging employees and properties that best symbolize the quality service of the industry. The 2014 awards were given out for five properties and six individual categories, as well as one industry supplier category. The Stars of the Industry awards were created over 40 years ago by CH&LA's national affiliate, the American Hotel & Lodging Association, to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the lodging industry.

With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Shindle brings a wealth of knowledge, strong leadership and a passion for luxury hotel operations to his role as general manager of The Westin Verasa Napa. Under his watch, The Westin Verasa Napa has been awarded a number of recent honors including: North Bay Biz Magazine's 2014 The Top 500 North Bay Companies; Meeting Professionals International, Northern California Chapter - 2013-2014 Supplier of the Year; Touring & Tasting Magazine - 2014 Gold Medal Accommodation; 2012 SPG Member Favorite Resort - Most Romantic; TripAdvisor - 2013 Green Leader Level - Bronze; and TripAdvisor's 2012 Certificate of Excellence award.
