The Limelight Hotel Freshens-Up All 126 Guest Rooms and Adds New Winter Outdoor Adventures

. December 15, 2014

ASPEN, CO - December 15, 2014 - Located in the heart of downtown Aspen, Colo. the award-winning Limelight Hotel is preparing for another ski/ride season with a complete guest room upgrade scheduled for completion Nov. 24, 2014 as well as the addition of new outdoor adventures. This winter the hotel is featuring three new distinctive offerings that include a powder cat ski/ride day, grooming snowcat rides and last tracks with Aspen Ski Patrol.

“I could not be more excited for this season to start, as the guest room renovation will give a new and more contemporary feel to our hotel. The addition of new outdoor activities joining the existing Inside Tracks and First Tracks programs will give our guests more to choose from. Our goal is to provide our guests with the best overall experience and we feel that with these upgrades and offerings we are in store for another great season,” states Richard Stettner, Managing Director of the Limelight Hotel.

This fall, the Limelight Hotel is “lightening up” the room decor to deliver even more comfort and ease to guests. Partnering with Aspen-based Rowland+Broughton Architecture and Interior Design, all 126 guest rooms will be outfitted with new carpets, drapery, and furniture that will feature warm colors and textures combined with patterns inspired by nature. Lounge-style seating with sumptuous chairs and work-height coffee tables will offer a place to unwind, dine casually, or pull out the laptop and share the day's photos with friends. This $1.1 million project will deliver an even greater sense of freshness and warmth after coming in from a day out on the slopes.

With the room upgrades scheduled for completion Nov. 24, just in time for the winter ski and ride season, the inviting hotel locale will also be providing three new on-mountain adventures.

Aspen Mountain Powder Tours and The Limelight Hotel are teaming up to provide guests with the unforgettable experience of enjoying a day of powder on a guided cat skiing/riding tour. Taking place Fridays from Dec. 19, 2014-Apr. 3, 2014, the cat ski/ride will include an average of 10-15 untracked powder runs on the backside of Aspen Mountain followed by an intimate late-lunch at the Powder Tours cabin. The gourmet lunch will not only include delectable dishes, but will also be perfectly paired with wines from around the world specifically bottled for element 47 (the highly-acclaimed restaurant located in The Little Nell). The Limelight Hotel Powder Tours experience costs $465/person or $400 if a group wishes to buy out the entire cat (10 seats). This snow cat offer is available to guests of The Limelight Hotel, The Little Nell and the Residences at The Little Nell and for skier or riders who are strong intermediate to advanced skiers and snowboarders.

Find out how the slopes of Aspen Mountain are perfected each evening by riding shotgun in a snowcat machine. An Aspen Snowmass grooming pro/snow cat operator will take two guests at a time on a behind-the-scenes ride in the “Bison 350” Prinoth top-of-the-line snowcat. Guests will ride in-style next to the driver as they learn how cat drivers groom the slopes as well as get a glimpse into the daily operation of running a ski resort all while enjoying the sunset and views of downtown Aspen. The cost is $100 for two people. The Limelight Hotel snowcat tours will leave at 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Nov. 27, 2014 - Apr. 19, 2015. This experience is open to guests of The Limelight Hotel, The Little Nell and Residences of The Little Nell.

Guests staying at The Limelight Hotel are invited to participate in the unique offering of 'sweeping' Aspen Mountain with Ski Patrol. This program offers an experience where guests have the mountain to themselves for one run, granting a behind-the-scenes tour of how patrol ensures skiers/boarders are safely off the mountain each day. This offer is open to guests of The Limelight Hotel, The Little Nell and Residences of The Little Nell and is free to those who sign-up.
