New Travel Tech Trends Await Grand Residences Riviera Cancun Guests in 2015

Riviera Maya's leading resort stays ahead of the curve with wearables, tablets and other innovations

. December 17, 2014

CancUn, Mexico - December 17, 2014 - Already Riviera Maya's top-ranking resort on TripAdvisor and a member of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World collection, Grand Residences Riviera Cancun continues to raise the bar by introducing new technologies that enhance the guest experience. Armed with complimentary wearables and tablets, guests will be starting off 2015 with the added convenience, satisfaction and peace of mind that come from these smart devices.

“As a new luxury resort catering to in-the-know and highly discerning clientele, who are often early adopters of technology, we knew we had to be at the forefront of emerging travel tech trends,” said General Manager Carlo Bicaci. “We have been testing these smart devices with select guests, listening to their comments and incorporating guest feedback, and are ready for a full rollout in January to help kick off the New Year.”

The Ease and Convenience of Wearables

From smart watches to smart clothing, the wearable market has come into its own this year and is expected to increase in 2015. Grand Residences Riviera Cancun is one of the area's first hoteliers to embrace the smart bracelet technology, providing guests with charging privileges as well as access to the floor and door of their private suite, simply with the flick of a wrist. With this new cashless and keyless system, guests will be able to leave their wallets and worries behind and instead enjoy their vacation freely.

Tablets and Kids' Cams

With the rise of tablet devices, coupled with an increasing need for safety and security, Grand Residences will be introducing a new service to help adult guests monitor their kids' wellbeing. Parents who enroll their children in either the kids' or teens' club will be given a complimentary tablet, which provides secure, real-time viewing from in-club web cams. Thanks to this new technology, kids and teens will be able to receive the space and privacy they crave while parents will be able to sit back and relax, knowing that their children are in safe hands and are comfortable at all times.

Against the Trend with a More Personal Touch

Although self-service check-in and checkout has gained prominence over the past few years, this service is one that the Grand Residences team believes is too important to hand over to technology. Instead, upon arrival, guests are personally escorted directly to the comfort of their own suite by a team member, who along the way provides a brief resort tour and answers guests' specific questions. The checkout process is also handled privately in-suite, eliminating the need to wait in long lobby lines. This face-to-face interaction is an important opportunity to gain guest feedback, which in turn helps the resort continually improve its offerings.
