January 19, 2015 - Ringing in 2015 with a bang, IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts has launched its first hotel in Madrid, Spain, the IBEROSTAR Las Letras Gran Vía. The property, which has 103 rooms, is situated in the upscale, centrally-located area of Gran Vía. The new four-star hotel is part of the company's Premium category of properties.

The eye-catching building and its prime location in the heart of the city proved crucial in the Majorcan company's decision in choosing the site for its first venture in Madrid. Combining contemporary design and classic tradition, the brand aims to turn it into one of the capital's leading hotels, maintaining and enhancing its finest features, while keeping it in line with IBEROSTAR's superb standards of quality, including impeccable service and meticulous attention to gastronomy.

According to Aurelio Vázquez, CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa of GRUPO IBEROSTAR, “with the opening of the IBEROSTAR Las Letras Gran Vía, the company is now present in one of Spain's top domestic and international tourism destinations. First opened in 1917, the historic building that houses the IBEROSTAR Las Letras Gran Vía was declared part of the Autonomous Community of Madrid's Cultural Heritage and has recently been restored, giving it a new, more avant-garde design. The restoration work successfully retained all the building's traditional sense of warmth, as well as enhancing the facilities through the use of natural light.

The building's six floors include 103 modern, designer rooms with large windows, offering spectacular views of Madrid's Gran Vía. Each floor is decorated in a different color, serving as an attractive contrasting background with the literary theme of the hotel, which is adorned with famous lines by writers and poets throughout the property's various spaces. This theme culminates in the heart of the hotel, which features a magnificent, grand library.
