Hilton Garden Inn Durham-University Med Center Named Best New Hotel for 2014 by Hilton Worldwide

PORTLAND, Maine. February 4, 2015 - The Olympia Companies announce that the Hilton Garden Inn Durham-University Medical Center in North Carolina has been recognized by Hilton Worldwide with two prestigious awards. The hotel, which opened last year, was presented with the brand's Ramp-Up Award as the best Hilton Garden Inn to open in 2014. The hotel was also named as a Pride Merit winner, after being selected from a field of 600 Hilton hotels worldwide for achieving a top 3 rank for product quality, guest service, loyalty and cleanliness.

"Being recognized by the Hilton Garden Inn brand with two prestigious awards is a great honor for a new hotel," said Abigail Flynn, General Manger. "We set this goal during the pre-opening phase of the project and it's gratifying to see an outstanding team of people complete their mission."

The hotel is a collaborative development between The Olympia Companies and SMART Hotels Group and is managed by Olympia Hotel Management. Olympia is an innovative, privately-owned real estate company specializing in hotel investment, development and management. SMART Hotels Group develops and operates campus hotels with signature style. This is their second development partnership with The Olympia Companies. Their first collaboration was developing the Hyatt Place Chicago-South/University Medical Center.
