Haiti's Marriott Port-au-Prince Names Peter Antinoph as GM and Elsa Sammartano as DOSM

PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI. - May 20, 2015. The Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel in Haiti is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Antinoph and Elsa Sammartano, general manager and director of sales & marketing, respectively.

Antinoph comes to the Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel from the Marriott Champs Elysees, where he also served as general manager. Following a victorious battle with cancer, Antinoph decided to dedicate his life to helping others and this opportunity in Haiti was the ideal way to accomplish that.

"It is an immense honor to lead the Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel, a project that aims to help create sustainable economic growth in Haiti," said Antinoph, General Manager of the new hotel. "This country is rising back up like a phoenix and I am overjoyed to be a part of it."

Prior to managing the Paris Marriott Champs Elysees from 2011-2014, Antinoph spent four years as general manager at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel, which was the largest Marriott in Europe at the time. Previous to those posts, Antinoph held general manager positions at the Renaissance London Gatwick Hotel and the Taba Heights Marriott Beach Resort in Egypt, the latter of which he opened.

Sammartano joined the Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel team most recently by way of the Marriott Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Hotel and Courtyard Paris St. Denis Hotel where she also served as DOSM.

"When I was offered this position at the Marriott Port-au-Prince I knew it was going to be special but I had no idea just how meaningful it would be." Said Sammartano. "The people of Haiti have touched my heart and I look forward to working towards a brighter future for this country."

Presented with the opportunity to join Digicel, the Clinton Foundation and Marriott International in opening the Marriott Port-au-Prince Hotel in Haiti, Antinoph and Sammartano left Paris to help generate hundreds of local jobs and create sustainability for the people of Haiti.
