Xanterra Parks & Resorts Appoints Dominie Lenz General Manager of Furnace Creek Resort

DEATH VALLEY, CA. - May 28, 2015. Xanterra Parks & Resorts, Inc. has announced the appointment of Dominie Lenz as General Manager of Furnace Creek Resort, located in Death Valley National Park. In this role, Lenz will oversee all operations of both the AAA four-diamond, 66-room Inn at Furnace Creek and the 224-room, family-friendly Ranch at Furnace Creek.

Lenz has spent more than seven years with Xanterra Parks & Resorts throughout her illustrious career, most recently as Executive Director of Operations for Xanterra South Rim LLC. Prior to her recent post, Lenz's strong passion for maintaining, restoring and preserving historic buildings brought her to Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, Calif. While there, she served as the General Manager of this historic LEED Gold Certified 142-room eco-lodge, spa, healing arts center, cooking school and Michelin-rated restaurant.

No stranger to Death Valley National Park, Lenz was appointed Regional General Manager of Xanterra Park & Resorts, Inc., in 2005 and was based in Death Valley. There she managed three full-service resorts and exceeded revenue and profit goals during the three years she was Regional Genera Manager. In staying true to her passion, Lenz was appointed General Manager of Crater Lake National Park in 2002, where she managed a full-service seasonal property with $7 million in revenue, oversaw operations for the historic Crater Lake Lodge and served as a liaison for the National Park Service.

Prior to joining Crater National Park, Lenz held the position of Food & Beverage Director for Amfac Parks & Resorts for three years. She was also Director of Operations and General Manager at the Paradise Inn in Mount Rainier National Park and the General Manager for TW Recreational Services, Inc., located at the North Rim Grand Canyon.

Dominie Lenz graduated from California College of the Arts in Oakland, Calif. She is certified by the National Restaurant Association as a ServSafe Instructor and currently resides in Death Valley, Calif.
