One&Only Resorts Appoints Ed Brea as General Manager of One&Only Hayman Island in Australia

DUBAI, UAE. September 3, 2015 - One&Only Resorts announces the appointment of established industry leader Ed Brea as General Manager, One&Only Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, effective September 1, 2015. In his new role, Mr. Brea is responsible for the entire operation of One&Only Hayman Island and its continued strategic development.

Mr. Brea joins One&Only with over 30 years experience in the luxury hospitality industry, including key positions at prestigious hotel brands Hyatt and Shangri-La. He started his career in the early 1980s at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Hawaii where he worked in a variety of roles throughout Food and Beverage. He continued to develop within Hyatt, with further roles in the Philippines, Australia and Singapore and then was appointed Resident Manager at Grand Hyatt Taipei in 1999.

In 2000, Ed joined Shangri-La at the Island hotel in Hong Kong. During his tenure at Shangri-La, he held key leadership roles from Canada to Singapore, from Australia to Malaysia and most recently, Thailand. Mr. Brea also introduced new resort brands within Shangri-La, including the flagship hotel Jing-An and the Kerry Hotel Pudong, both in Shanghai, China as well as Traders in Malaysia. Ed has also led teams overseeing key projects, re-brandings and pre-openings.
