NEW YORK, N.Y. February 10, 2016 - Worldhotels, a leading global group for independent upscale hotels, today announced that it has added the organization's first hotel in Colombia. Located in the capital city of Bogota, Hotel Morrison 114 offers 54 guest rooms in an upscale neighborhood in the northern part of the city. Guests have easy access to public transportation and the city's extensive network of bike and walking paths.

“We are extremely excited to be entering the Colombia market with this great addition to our portfolio,” said Tom Griffiths, vice president, Worldhotels-The Americas. “Hotel Morrison 114 offers a great home-away-from-home experience for guests, whether they are traveling for business or looking for comfortable and relaxing accommodations during a much-deserved vacation.”

With the addition of the Hotel Morrison 114, Worldhotels now has 14 hotels in South America, including five in Argentina and eight in Brazil.

“We are delighted to debut the Worldhotels brand to travelers in Colombia,” said Eduardo Sanchez, general manager. “Our guests will be the true winners in this new partnership as they will gain the collective benefits offered by both Hotel Morrison 114 and Worldhotels.”

Hotel Morrison 114 provides guests with a complimentary daily breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, Teo Estiatorio offers a menu of Greek specialties (“Estiatorio” means “kitchen” in Greek). Chef Theodore Lykos creates traditional dishes from the Greek Isles, as well as unique preparations he learned from his grandmother. Room service is also available.

Each of the hotel's air-conditioned guest rooms offers a well-lit work desk, plasma television with international cable channels, electronic safe, refrigerator, minibar and hair dryer.

Other amenities include a 24-hour business center, secure underground parking and complimentary high-speed Internet access in guestrooms, meeting rooms and lobby. The hotel offers four conference rooms for a variety of meeting and event options.

Worldhotels makes it easy for guests to book rooms with member hotels via telephone, online or through 450,000 travel agent terminals worldwide—as easily as with hotels and resorts affiliated with large franchise operations. Other advantages include participation in advertising, promotions and public relations campaigns, as well as exposure at industry events and trade shows attended by Worldhotels. Specific advertising materials include a page in the Worldhotels' hotel/resort directory, a listing on www.worldhotels.com, and inclusion in print ads to capture the atmosphere, amenities and unique essence of each property.

In addition, more than 35 sales and reservation offices staffed by 80 employees worldwide work on behalf of all Worldhotels' properties to create and sell special programs for business and leisure travelers.
