Roger Tremblay Returns to Sherwood Inn on Lake Joseph as Director of Operations

MUSKOKA, ON. July 11, 2016 - The management of Sherwood Inn on Lake Joseph (www.sherwoodinn.ca), one of Ontario's most romantic resorts and renowned culinary destinations, is pleased to announce that Roger Tremblay has returned to the ClubLink resort as Director of Operations. Tremblay returns home to Sherwood Inn after a few years working at Rocky Crest Golf Resort, ClubLink's other luxury resort in Muskoka. An executive chef by trade, with over 40-years in the hospitality business, Tremblay is a welcomed addition to the Sherwood Inn team.

In addition to Sherwood Inn and Rocky Crest Golf Resort, Roger Tremblay has worked at some of the largest and most prestigious resorts and hotels in Canada including Lake Louise, Banff Springs Hotel, Deerhurst Resort, Algonquin Resort St-Andrews by the Sea, and the SkyDome Hotel, to name a few. Tremblay studied culinary arts in La Sarre, Quebec, Humber College in Toronto, and at the Culinary Institute of America in St-Helena, Napa Valley, California. He also attended the L'Universite du Quebec à Montreal for Hotel Management. Tremblay acquired his Certified Chef de Cuisine Certification in 1998.

"Roger Tremblay's return to Sherwood Inn is very much like a homecoming," says Jody Gillis Sherwood Inn Group Sales Manager. "Roger originally joined us back in 2007. With his extensive culinary background, and passion for Muskoka, he was a natural fit for Sherwood Inn due to our reputation as an Ontario culinary destination. Shortly after joining the Sherwood Inn team, Roger had a dream to convert our "Pool table room" into a Wine Cellar where we could host private dinners and receptions. This idea became a reality after our 2009 fire. We've hosted countless private events including special birthdays, anniversaries, wedding rehearsals, bridal showers, beer and wine pairing dinners, and even memorials. The cellar is complemented by our Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, which we have won for several years, and is an award we are very proud of," explains Gillis.

"Since I first moved to Muskoka in 1984, I've felt a strong attraction to this beautiful area. It is where both my children were born, and a fantastic place to live and work," says Tremblay. "I am delighted to be back at the helm at Sherwood Inn. The inn is just so unique, with an authentic Muskoka charm that cannot be duplicated. Thanks to Sherwood Inn's long service team members and return guests, it actually feels like I never left.
