Hyatt House New York/Chelsea Appoints Ashley M. Mahon as General Manager

. August 11, 2016

NEW YORK CITY, NY. August 11, 2016 - Lexin Capital and Real Hospitality Group (RHG) are pleased to announce the appointment of Ashley M. Mahon as general manager of the new Hyatt House New York/Chelsea, which will debut in the fall of 2016 as the brand's first New York City location. Leading up to the hotel's opening, Mahon will oversee the new build hotel that is being developed by Lexin Capital, a private investment, development and management company.

The property will exemplify the Hyatt House brand by featuring contemporary apartment-style units with floor-to-ceiling windows with spectacular views of New York City, comfortable living spaces, spacious bedrooms, and stylish bathrooms. Within her role, Mahon will manage all aspects of the 150-room property and its day-to-day operations, as well as facilitate all tasks around the hotel's pre-opening and opening, such as hiring and training staff to ensure guests receive the thoughtful service for which the Hyatt House brand is known.

Most recently, Mahon served as director of rooms at Hyatt Herald Square where she took part in leading the building's complete rebuild into the new hotel, as well as implementing brand standards and training new associates. Within this role, Mahon forecasted budgets to ensure maximum profitability and increased Trip Advisor scores from 270 to 120. Prior to her time at Hyatt Herald Square, she was Assistant General Manager at Fairfield Inn & Suites Manhattan/Chelsea, where she completed re-training of all the associates and revamped scheduling to maximize earnings.

“We are thrilled to have Mahon heading up the operations for Hyatt House New York/Chelsea,” says Metin Negrin, the founder and president of Lexin Capital. “Her successful track record - particularly with Hyatt Herald Square - proves that she is a strong fit for this position and I am confident that she will guide Hyatt House New York/Chelsea to a successful opening.”

Mahon graduated from Marist College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a dual minor in English and Psychology. Ashley grew up on the Jersey Shore and in her spare time, she enjoys spending days on the beach or outdoors and is an avid reader.

“I'm incredibly excited to lead the opening of Hyatt House New York/Chelsea and introduce this brand to the Manhattan market,” said Mahon. “As general manager, I plan to upkeep the Hyatt House brand's reputation of genuine and trustworthy service in the iconic Chelsea neighborhood.”
