Providence Welcomes New Hilton Garden Inn with Ribbon Cutting and Community Open House

PROVIDENCE, R.I. August 24, 2016 - On Wednesday, August 17, City officials gathered at the site of the new Hilton Garden Inn Providence for a formal ribbon cutting ceremony and firsthand look at the newly renovated space. Individuals discovered why Life's Better at the Garden™ with an exclusive tour of the new guest rooms and public spaces. Joining Hilton Garden Inn Providence staff members in celebrating were Mayor Jorge Elorza, leadership team members of TPG Hotels & Resorts, vice president of Brand Performance for Hilton Garden Inn, Don Willingham, community leaders and representatives of nearby India Point Park organizations.

The new hotel implements the warmth of the Hilton Garden Inn brand into its decor with nautical touches inspired by the rich history of India Point's maritime tradition. Nearly 74 guest rooms boast views of Providence harbor, in addition to new meeting and event spaces, and a gaming and media room.

All rooms were completely remodeled to reflect the Hilton Garden Inn brand aesthetic. Guest rooms feature the brand's signature bedding and linens, offer a spacious desk area and in-room hospitality center with a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig coffee maker. The six-story hotel, located at 220 India Street, has 137 new rooms and suites and remained open to guests throughout construction and rebranding. 74 of those rooms have direct harbor views.

Offering guests a personal dining experience, Garden Grille and Bar's interactive chef provides, cooked-to-order breakfast offerings and full dinner selections. The bright new bar invites guests to sip a beverage while taking in the water view from the outdoor patio.

For the business minded traveler, the hotel also features event space with more than 1,100 square feet of flexible meeting rooms and a 24-hour business center. Wi-Fi is also free throughout the hotel.

Guests can rejuvenate themselves in the Hilton Garden Inn's new state-of-the-art fitness center. For an experience devoted to fun, unwind in the new media room with Xbox and PlayStation gaming systems and a high-definition television. As part of the new Hilton Garden Inn Providence's commitment to sustainability, a specialized electric vehicle charging station (EVgo) provides a hyper-fast charging network.
