SALA Hospitality Group Appoints Cluster General Manager for All Sala Boutique
BANGKOK, TH. August 29, 2016 - SALA Hospitality Group, one of Thailand's most highly acclaimed luxury boutique hotel groups, is pleased to announce that Mr. Volkert Geertsen has been appointed its Cluster General Manager for its sala boutique properties. In this new role Volkert will be responsible for overseeing all of the sala boutique properties; sala khaoyai, sala lanna Chiang Mai, sala rattanakosin Bankok, sala ayutthaya and sala bang pa-in which is under development and scheduled to open in 2018.
Volkert was recently Hotel Manager for the Anantara Bangkok Riverside for 2 ½ years. Prior to that, Volkert was Director of Sales and Marketing at the same property for 2 years.
Before Anantara, Volkert spent 5 years with Starwood Hotels and Resorts; first as Cluster DOS for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, followed by a promotion to DOSM for The Plaza Athenee, A Royal Meridien Hotel.
Prior to Starwood, Volkert spent over 8 years with Marriott, starting at the Amsterdam Marriot Hotel in 1999, and working his way up through various sales and marketing positions to finally end up in Thailand as DOS for both the JW Marriott Phuket and Renaissance Koh Samui from 2005 - 2008.
Volkert will work out of the Bangkok office, and his official start date was 1st August 2016.

sala ayutthaya opened on 1st August 2014 with 26 spacious guest rooms and suites, on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, and within walking distance of numerous historical sites.
Currently under development are SALA Samui at Chaweng Resort and Spa which will open in 2017and sala ayutthaya at Bang Pa-in which will open in 2018.
