Maya Tulum Resort Hires Jorge Gutierrez as General Manager

TULUM, MX. September 28, 2016 - Maya Tulum Resort is thrilled to announce that it has named Jorge Gutierrez to the position of General Manager.

Gutierrez is a dynamic leader who has risen to top management positions in demanding, competitive environments, consistently building and leading successful teams that optimized processes and business practices. He most recently opened the Indura Beach & Golf Resort as the General Manager, the first luxury property in Honduras. He previously served as the Resident Manager at Mukul Beach, Golf & Spa in Nicaragua and at Arenal Nayara in Costa Rica. He also spent more than five years with Viceroy Hotel Group, serving as the Rooms Division Director, the Director of Operations at Florida's Tides South Beach and the Front Desk Manager at Tides Riviera Maya. Gutierrez is a native of the Guanajuato State in Mexico, where he earned his Licenciatura in Tourist Administration at Itebsa.

The resort - which is located 90 minutes from Cancun on a secluded stretch of the Mexican Riviera - recently completed an extensive renovation to refresh for another busy winter season, including new thatch roofs on several guest cabanas, new windows, a new wood deck in the lobby and upgrades to the seaside restaurant.
