A Sneak Preview of Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon

. November 22, 2016

FÉLICITÉ ISLAND, SC. November 22, 2016 - Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon's complete and luxurious spa, slated to open winter 2017, is set to offer an enthralling and unparalleled sensory experience due to the perfect synergy between its magical location and sophisticated island design.

Created by Six Senses Architecture and Design team and Richard Hywel Evans of Studio RHE in London, the spa will complement the natural features of the 652-acre private island of towering rocks, boulders and lush jungle, as well as the oceanfront.

Six Senses Spa Zil Pasyon spans over 19,000 square feet of the island's naturally rugged environment, while its facilities occupy 7,000 square feet. The spa will accentuate the island's geography through its materiality, texture and form. Combined with the integration of sustainable processes and technologies, it is designed to become an integral part of the island's eco-system and a symbiotic experience of the surrounding environmental and built features.

The guests' sensory experience begins the moment they enter the spa reception. Located on a hill providing magnificent views of the surroundings, it will be home to the latest Six Senses retail collection of natural skincare lines, resort wear, swimsuits, jewelry and accessories; as well as a nail bar with manicure and pedicure stations. The journey continues through a circular open-air oasis, leading to female and male changing areas. From here, the guests are taken on a curated tour events through the island's dramatic rocky outcrop, pools and waterfalls.

Five double treatment villas, made of refined timber, have been carefully inserted among the natural features and designed to reflect the island's colors, textures and moods.

The Rock Villa, fully glassed and constructed between large granite boulders, is entered via an expansive platform and provides a dramatic setting for any spa treatment. It also features a rock shower on the cliffs edge to allow guests fully appreciate its striking location. The Hanging Villa is built on a large rock and is extended all the way out to create a suspended feeling in the room. Its outdoor deck and a rock pool provide a perfect setting for post-treatment renewal and relaxation. Approached through a descending walkway set between dramatic boulders, The Ocean Villa is located right above the water offering 180-degree views of the ocean. Guests wishing to get even closer to the sea can relax in the suspended net outside the room.

The Nature Villa is surrounded by the local lush vegetation, all in line with the Six Senses philosophy of bringing guests closer to nature; while the Cave Villa is enveloped by high boulders that create a feeling of a different intensity as if being encapsulated in a cave. A swinging daybed located outside this two-level villa will provide the perfect place to rejuvenate the mind and admire the surroundings.

Spa experiences will be designed around the natural health-giving properties of the islands' flora and fauna, the natural rock shading, and calming sounds of the sea. For minimal intrusion on the landscape, lightweight timber steps and rope bridges will link the different spa villas while fabric shading-sails create areas for rest and relaxation.

To further enhance the wellness journey, the spa also features an elevated open-air saltwater pool with a sundeck, and yoga and meditation pavilion. A viewing deck has been strategically positioned to offer spectacular views and will also be used to host a variety of wellness classes.

There will be a wide range of holistic wellness, rejuvenation and locally-inspired treatments together with an extensive menu of signature therapies and the recently launched Six Senses Integrated Wellness. This latest brand initiative allows the in-house wellness expert to measure and analyze key physiological biomarkers and provide guests with lifestyle and nutritional advice; as well as design a personalized program of spa treatments, fitness, and wellness activities.

Six Senses Spa will also feature the group's popular Six Senses Yogic Program which includes Discover Yoga, Yogic Detox and Yogic Sleep.

The Organic Pharmacy and Terres d'Afrique have been confirmed as product partners, offering a range of result-driven face and body treatments.

Nearby the spa, a fitness center features inspiring 180-degrees ocean views. Traditional cardio and weight machines are combined with functional training equipment to deliver more than just an ordinary workout. This is because exercise should be more about play than work, and guests will have the opportunity to experience different fitness methods, classes and programs. The resort is blessed with stunning spots and surroundings, so fitness sessions will also be offered outdoors to enhance the guest experience.

There is something for everyone, from multi-day wellness programs to rejuvenation therapies and restorative treatments, as well as a selection of group activities such as complimentary morning yoga and meditation.
