“We are absolutely thrilled to open this hotel and introduce the Andaz brand to our Scottsdale community,” said Scott Mason, general manager of Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa. “The Andaz brand is all about connecting guests with cultural experiences that leave them enriched. From our thoughtful design and distinct food and beverage offerings, to our immersive guest experiences curated with local partners, we know that guests will arrive a visitor but depart a Scottsdale local.”

Design and Guestrooms

At the center of the resort, The Guest House is an elegant expression of mid-century modern architecture and serves as a social gathering place for guests and locals. The design, from Delawie Architects, includes floor-to-ceiling glass walls to highlight the inviting indoor restaurant and lounge spaces. The exterior's expansive patio spaces encourage guests to sit and socialize, while the interiors reflect a mix of modern classics and mid-century interpretations. The Guest House, centrally located for guest access, changes in ambiance throughout the day. Bright, quiet mornings are a time for guests to reflect and recharge, while afternoons and evenings are for socializing, craft cocktails, creative small plates and the ultimate nightcap.

The resort's mid-century modern guestroom interiors, conceived by EDG Interior Architecture + Design, are a combination of bright colors, folk art and cultural patterns that draw inspiration from renowned artists and designers of the late 1950s and early 1960s, like Alexander Girard. The bungalow-style guestrooms and suites range from 350 to 1,800 square feet and are set in clusters of four to six units. Individual guestrooms feature front terraces with Spanish-style banco seating and contemporary dining tables. Comfortable and functional mid-century inspired furnishings and bathrooms feature large showers with windows and skylights that fill each space with natural light. Many rooms also include private outdoor patios with chaise lounges and lounge chairs.

Amenities and Services

In close proximity to The Guest House patio is the Turquoise Pool. The center of outdoor activity in the resort, the Turquoise Pool features an expansive sundeck including more than 150 chaise lounges and day beds in addition to 13 private cabanas, of which six are connected to guestrooms and a suite overlooking the pool. The Turquoise Pool Bar is the centerpiece of the pool experience, the place for fun food and beverage offerings during the day and parties and events at night.

The resort's Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary, expected to open in January 2017, will embody the calming and healing qualities of the desert. Featuring an extensive menu of personalized treatments utilizing unique and indigenous ingredients, the spa also encourages guests to invent their own concoctions at the Desert Blending Bar. The 12,000-square-foot spa will feature four indoor and three outdoor treatment rooms, outdoor hydrotherapy pools, a nail and hair salon, eucalyptus steam rooms, outdoor relaxation lounges and an exclusive private pool for spa guests.

Culinary

The resort's signature restaurant, Weft & Warp Art Bar + Kitchen, features innovative use of plancha cooking techniques by Executive Chef Adam Sheff. From the ultimate breakfast to an eclectic mix of small plates, the menu showcases the combination of Sheff's urban culinary experience with Sonoran inspired flavors and ingredients. The restaurant's glass box exhibition kitchen includes a chef's table, which beckons guests to become a part of the kitchen culinary experience.

Andaz Studio Spaces

The resort's event and meeting spaces are designed to engage attendees, encourage innovation and inspire ideas and collaboration. The resort features 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting and function spaces, including the 3,900-square-foot Foundry Ballroom, the 2,300-square-foot Easel and Mural Studios, a boardroom and four additional working studios ranging in size from 760 to 1,500 square feet. The Studios feature large windows and glass doors leading to outdoor patios and function spaces, designed to provide unique meeting breaks and social gathering experiences. More than 36,000 square feet of outdoor event and function spaces provide extraordinary venues for weddings and groups and events of all sizes.

The Retreat is a hidden gem within the resort, located on the southern portion of the resort's 23 acres, featuring a cluster of 22 guestrooms and a suite. Surrounding a pool and several outdoor dining and event spaces, The Retreat is an ideal venue for corporate retreats and destination weddings.
