Residence Inn Grand Rapids West receives Residence Inn Community Service Hotel of the Year award and Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport director of sales earns Sales Manager of the Year award

ROSEMONT, IL. May 22, 2017 - Rosemont, Illinois-based First Hospitality Group, Inc. (FHG), a leading hotel management, acquisition and development company, announced today that its Residence Inn Grand Rapids West hotel was awarded the “Residence Inn Community Service Hotel of the Year” award, while its director of sales for the Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus Airport, Machelle Collins, was awarded the 2016 Fairfield Inn & Suites “Sales Manager of the Year” award. FHG President & CEO Bob Habeeb made the announcement.

The Residence Inn Community Service Hotel of the Year award honors hotels that provide meaningful contribution to a charitable organization, use their available resources effectively, demonstrate teamwork and reinforce the hotel's positive reputation within the local community. The Fairfield Inn & Suites Marriott Performance Awards recognize top performers and celebrate the exceptional achievements and dedication of its hotels and associates.

The recipient for both awards are determined by a selection committee consisting of discipline experts, brand vice presidents, brand representatives, franchise vice presidents and others. After reviewing candidates, the committee discusses the top contenders and selects the winners based on a majority vote.

Having been recognized in 2016 as #1 in Travel in Forbes America's Best Midsize Employers 2016, #28 overall, and #3 amongst all of America's best travel companies, FHG moved up to a #19 ranking out of the 250 best midsize employers in the country in 2017 and #1 in the Travel category for the second year in a row.
