PORTLAND, OR. October 9, 2017 - The Porter, a luxury hotel located in Portland, Ore.'s Fountain District and set to open in January 2018, announces it has added three core members to its management team: Andrea Murray as General Manager, Laura van Daal as Director of Sales & Marketing and Troy Dixon as Director of Food & Beverage. In their roles, Murray, van Daal and Dixon will develop the hotel's services, amenities, and culture to provide a sophisticated take in telling Portland's story.

Andrea Murray was an Iowa native until she moved to San Francisco at 14, and she's been a West Coaster ever since. She attended the School of the Arts in San Francisco and studied opera. At age 24, after working for several restaurants, Murray found her passion for hospitality. She has worked for many successful properties, including the Montage in the Metreon, Levy Restaurants, W Hotels, Hotel Shattuck Plaza in Berkeley, Crowne Plaza in Palo Alto, Hotel Paradox and Pacifica Hotels. Murray is a swift and intelligent worker with strengths in service, hitting her financial goals and building an efficient team, as well sharing an innate ability to empathize and connect with guests. When Murray is not working, she can be found biking around town, attending local concerts and trying new restaurants. High-res headshot of Murray: http://bit.ly/2w2afv5.

Laura van Daal was born in Indianapolis, Ind. as the youngest of five children. She attended Purdue University and majored - and started a career - in hospitality. Van Daal has a knack for being able to fully conceptualize a vision and successfully bring it to fruition, as demonstrated through her work helping build the brand and the business at The Nines in Portland, Ore. Van Daal is known for her experience within the luxury hotel market, her decisive leadership style and direct approach, as well as strong data analytics, presentation skills and work ethic. In her spare time, van Daal enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling, listening to music, drinking lovely Oregon Wines, and continuously learning (she is currently learning to speak German). Troy Dixon grew up in the hospitality business by way of his parent's grocery store/cafe in Jackson, Mich. It was there that he began to work in the kitchen, starting as a dishwasher, then moving to prep cook, line cook and finally butcher. Professionally, he feels that his greatest niche is his attention to cultivating a culture of service and hospitality. Dixon has served as General Manager for the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara and Bluehour. Dixon is a curious learner by nature and, when he is not working, he can be found reading, writing and spending time with his beautiful wife, Christine and daughters, Clara, Jillian and Norah.
