Piazza Hospitality Plans 2018 Opening of Two New California Hotels, Harmon Guest House and Hotel San Luis Obispo

. November 16, 2017

HEALDSBURG, CA. November 16, 2017 - Piazza Hospitality, developers of the sustainably-chic h2hotel and the acclaimed Hotel Healdsburg in Northern California's Sonoma County, is pleased to announce new details about its newest developments, Harmon Guest House in Healdsburg and Hotel San Luis Obispo located in the Central Coast. Harmon Guest House is scheduled to open in spring 2018 and Hotel San Luis Obispo is scheduled to open in winter 2018. The forthcoming boutique hotels will serve as environmentally-friendly chic retreats, inviting visitors to relax, recharge and play.

Harmon Guest House will be located just steps away from sister property h2hotel in downtown Healdsburg. Named after Healdsburg's founder Harmon Heald, Harmon Guest House honors its namesake's pioneering spirit of creative urban planning by featuring thoughtful spaces that encourage friends and families to gather - just as Harmon Heald envisioned the plaza as a central gathering place for Healdsburg residents. The new property will feature 39 rooms, including six suites, in intimate pods grouped at the front and rear of the property encouraging groups to feel like they have their own private wing of the hotel. Designed with versatility in mind, the hotel will feature adjoining rooms to connect with friends and family in suites. Each guest room will showcase private outdoor space by way of a balcony or patio, in addition to a view of either the main street and town square, interior garden courtyards or the swimming pool and creekside park. The halls, main stairwell and guest rooms of the hotel will be animated by a selection of commissioned art from emerging California artists.

The property will also offer an exclusive rooftop event space, Merritt Hall, and adjoining terrace perfect for celebrations or just taking in the view by the fire pit with an evening glass of wine. Merritt Hall will occupy 1,493 square feet of indoor meeting and event space, accommodating up to 100 guests. Spoonbar, h2hotel's innovative restaurant, will provide on-site catering. All guest parking is provided via valet-served parking lifts in an efficient garage accessed from Healdsburg Avenue. The garage also accommodates a fleet of shared bicycles as well as secure bicycle parking for guests to explore the area, and charging stations for electric cars.

With sustainability and green initiatives as one of its key values, Harmon Guest House will aim for a LEED gold certification (a similar status as sister property h2hotel received), featuring environmentally friendly elements including a sun-shading slat system to reduce solar heat gain, electric car charging stations and all LED lighting. The new property will also include a rainwater harvesting system for 100 percent of its irrigation needs. Additional green elements will include solar thermal water heating system, low/no VOC paints & coatings, storm-water bio-swale, recycled-content and regional-content materials, reclaimed finish materials, high-efficiency irrigation system with weather-based controls, and water-efficient plumbing fixtures.

Piazza Hospitality will also open the firm's first property on the Central Coast in winter 2018. Hotel San Luis Obispo, nestled in downtown San Luis Obispo's vibrant downtown, will feature 78 guest rooms, including six suites, and dedicated space for meetings and events for groups of up to 350 people.

The hotel will feature two onsite restaurants including a globally-inspired casual restaurant seating 60 guests, and a relaxed fine-dining restaurant seating 50 guests with private dining available in the restaurant's thoughtfully designed wine library. Hotel San Luis Obispo will feature an expansive pool terrace and Jacuzzi, lobby lounge replete with a long bar, fireplace, and adjacent garden courtyard serving all day refreshments, full-service contemporary spa, a fitness center and complimentary bicycle fleet, and valet parking.
