Blue Water Development Opens Comfort Inn & Suites, Daytona Beach Oceanfront

USA, Ocean City, Maryland. March 31, 2020

Blue Water Development, a luxury developer specializing in commercial and hospitality properties on the East Coast, is pleased to announce the opening of Comfort Inn & Suites, Daytona Beach Oceanfront on February 1, 2020. Formerly The Mayan Inn, this fully-renovated hotel is the company's first property in Florida and brings its total number of hotels to ten.

"We jumped at the opportunity to bring the Blue Water family to Florida and the Comfort Inn and Suites brand to Daytona Beach," said Todd Burbage, Blue Water CEO. "We'll be owning, operating and managing every aspect of this property, so we were immediately attracted to its amazing location. We're excited for guests to begin, or continue, enjoying one of America's most popular vacation destinations from the comfort of our newly renovated, oceanfront accommodations."

With a bright, modern design that reflects Daytona's vibrant coastal atmosphere both inside and out, the resort-style property features beautifully appointed common areas; 112 total guest rooms; an oceanfront pool, sun deck, and tiki hut; and a meeting space ideal for business groups and weddings.

The hotel's 98 standard guest rooms are equipped with premium bedding, a flat-screen TV, and a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffeemaker, while its 14 family-friendly efficiency suites also include full kitchens. In addition, guests staying in one of the hotel's 76 ocean-facing rooms will enjoy a private balcony, perfect for viewing the famous Florida sunrises.

To prepare for a day of fun on the resort town's 23-miles of "World's Most Famous Beach", at the pier, Daytona International Speedway, or countless shopping destinations, guests can take advantage of a complimentary hot breakfast, a sundries shop, or on-site laundry facilities.

While guests will be able to experience Blue Water's signature hospitality during Daytona's event-filled February, the local community will get a chance to do the same when the hotel hosts an official ribbon cutting and grand opening in early March.

"We're obviously very excited to welcome our first guests, but we're also very proud to join the Daytona Beach community," said Burbage. "We look forward to meeting many of its members in March, and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with both Volusia County and Florida in the future."

Comfort Inn & Suites, Daytona Beach Oceanfront is located at 103 South Ocean Ave., Daytona Beach, Florida, 32118.

Sales & Marketing: Technology Rules

It is impossible for any hotel to develop an effective sales and marketing plan that doesn't include a wide-ranging digital strategy. Online platforms have impacted virtually every aspect of their business, due to major changes in how Internet users research, plan, and book their hotel visits. As a result, a successful plan includes generating traffic through the use of a hotel website, social media, email and a myriad of other digital marketing technologies. One such strategy uses data collection and automation technology to create personalized content to individual customers. The goal of personalization marketing is to engage potential customers by communicating with them as individuals - to establish a more personal relationship - as a way of encouraging them to visit a property. Video marketing is also extremely important. Showing someone authentic video from a specific location is immersive and engaging, and video is still the preferred way for customers to interact with a hotel brand. Voice and Visual Search are increasingly in demand, as consumers are moving away from typing queries into a search engine. Instead, they can simply speak their request into their phone, and find and book a hotel without ever typing a word. Similarly, other platforms allow consumers to search visually for almost any image, and find out pricing information, shopping comparisons and how-to-buy - all from the app. The adoption of Artificial Intelligence is also becoming popular. The ability of chatbots to answer simple questions or fulfill requests 24/7 is undeniably appealing. In addition, A.I. seems best positioned to qualify leads that can be later nurtured and closed by a human sales expert - all at a fraction of the cost of a traditional support team. The June Hotel Business Review will examine how some sales and marketing professionals are integrating these innovative technologies into their operations.
