Kaylan Hospitality is pleased to welcome Ted Mc Cowan as the Assistant General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Short Pump at the Notch.
For more than twelve years, Ted has developed a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry and specifically, operations management for Hilton Hotels Corporation in the Richmond, Charlottesville, VA and Washington, D.C. markets. He has had the benefit of serving the brands, Hampton Inn & Suites, and Hilton Garden Inn in various positions as: Night Auditor, Front Office Manager, Food & Beverage Manger, Operations Manger and most recently, Assistant General Manager for Homewood Suites. A consummate professional, he is motivated by ensuring the ultimate "guest" experience possible. His professional mantra embodies a high degree of attention to guest convenience, quality service, professional integrity, and the total personalization of the experience. He remains abreast of the latest trends and simultaneously, understands tradition ensuring guest satisfaction.
Prior to the hospitality industry, Ted spent twenty years in the financial sector in Richmond, VA and Washington, D.C. He developed highly skilled management acumen as evidenced by his expansive roles as: Retail Branch Manager/Officer, Mortgage Staff Accountant Vice President, Client Operations Manager and Consumer Loan Manager.
In addition, Ted is a Certified Events Planner and is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland Global Campus in the Business Management Program.
A Virginia native, Ted enjoys cherishes spending time with his family and friends. He is also an avid hiker, and relishes reading and writing poetry. Ted is also known for his passion and creativity as he perfects the exceptional designs of his specialty bake goods.
